A shocking murder has shaken the country. An Indore couple went on a honeymoon trip to Meghalaya, but only one returned. The husband, Raja Raghuvanshi, was found dead in a forest area near Wei Sawdong Falls. His wife, Sonam, is now the main accused in this tragic case.
On May 20, 2025, the newlyweds reached Shillong, planning to explore the beauty of Meghalaya. But by May 23, Raja had disappeared. Days later, his body was discovered in a gorge, hidden beneath the popular tourist spot.
Police said Sonam planned this murder. She hired three contract killers from Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. A local guide helped the police by giving key information. A red car followed the couple, caught on CCTV, and a blood-stained machete was found nearby.
Meghalaya Police arrested Sonam and three others. One accused is still missing. The motive, police claim, is an affair Sonam had before marriage. Her family denies this and is asking for a CBI investigation.
This tragic case is now trending as the Meghalaya couple case. It shows how a honeymoon turned into a planned murder.
